As of this morning, only 5.5 working days left! Woohoo!
I don't think I mentioned earlier that I got my learner's license a couple of weeks ago. Not that this was any great accomplishment; because I had a license many, many years ago, I didn't even have to write the test. Which I wish I had known before I studied the book, but whatever...after doing the paperwork and handing me my temporary license (which I sadly cannot use as a piece of ID, since it's just a big piece of paper with no picture), the woman at ICBC handed me the very book I'd studied and told me I might want to take a look at it since the rules had changed since I had my license. Uh, shouldn't you test me again, in that case? Eh. I passed their little online practise test, so don't you worry!
Also, I won the $35 pot in our poker game last weekend. My second time playing Texas Hold-Em, so I was quite proud. I don't really feel a great need to play for money, but the guy who owns the chips insists.

Your Inner European is Irish! |
![]() Sprited and boisterous! You drink everyone under the table. |
Does this mean half of me is occupying my inner self?
I did, like, a gazillion hours of improv this weekend. We had a workshop with Dave Morris all day Saturday, then did two shows Saturday night (well, I was in one and Alex was in the second, but we both had jobs during the performances we weren't in), and then we did another workshop with Dave on Sunday. Holy tiring, batman. But so, so worth it to have Amy workshop with us on Sunday!
The shows went better than I expected - which is to say, we did the long-form storytelling thing better in the show than we did in the workshop. It was really fun to do the show in the space - the Fernwood Community Association - because it was so reminiscent of community theatre, which is a very different feel from the comedy club vibe I was used to with Without Annette. We sold refreshments that one troupe member made, we had theatre lights that we ran, we set up a ticket table at the front of the house - it was great.
Also great? 12.5 working days left. And counting.

Amy came and stayed with us last night. She's on the island to launch into a series of interviews with people who participated in the Citizen's Assembly for her thesis, and the has the coolest little toy to help her record the interviews. And voice recognition software! I'm experiencing a little technology envy...
We went out and played pool with my friend Sarah at Peacock Billiards, which is just down the street from our house. We've never been before; I always thought the place looked a little sketch, but it was totally fine. It was good fun, especially when Sarah and I met an entertaining French man who was baffled by a radio trasmitter. We must go again some day.
