So, I was just trying to figure out delivery costs if Alex and I bought our kitchen online, rather than renting a van and ferrying it over to Ikea, buying stuff in person and coming back. There are some vague estimates of the cost of delivery to Victoria ($100 for 10 items - but what if one of our items is actually 5 boxes??), but nothing really concrete.

So I went through a pseudo order of approximately what we're likely to order (no, we haven't decided for sure yet, okay??), entered my name and address, and clicked through to get to the part where they tell me what the shipping cost would be. Only the next I know? They were thanking me for my order.

That's right, they took my order without a) ever telling me how much it would cost in total, or b) asking for my credit card number.

Weird.

I assume they have some methodology whereby they follow up on orders with a phone call, but why do it that way? On the plus side, it gives me time to call them and ask them to cancel my order.

And, uh, ask them about delivery costs to Victoria.
