It's kind of exciting watching our place change, and seeing our new kitchen grow.
Of course, some things are less exciting. Like learning that the corners in our condo are apparently not exactly what you might call "square". Yeah. Kind of a problem when you've got corner cabinets. Which we do.
I'm not sure what's going to happen, but there were a couple of inches of extra space in our plan (because Ikea kitchens were apparently not designed with our exact specifications in mind, who knew???), so hopefully that will help.
This is what it looked like on Monday evening:

And today:
More cabinets! On the wall!
And some of the walls have been painted, though I don't think the colour is 100% clear in this picture. It's a little more yellow than I wanted, but a hell of a lot better than the wallpaper that used to be there. With sprigs of blue and red flowers. Charming, as I'm sure you can imagine.
Then we have the as-yet-unresolved corner problem. So far, they appear to be avoiding it:
I'll let you know what happens.
In other news, the tile that I liked best (and Alex had no opinion on, a surprise to exactly 0 of you, I assume) is not yet in, even though it was supposed to be delivered by the 15th. So I guess we'll be going with second choice. Sigh. Although, now that I'll be choosing with all of the stuff in the kitchen, it appears that I might be able to go with a darker tile colour than originally anticipated, so it'll open up options.
Have I mentioned that this is our countertop?
And our fridge and stove will be black. I hope this works. If not, oh well; we can always move. :P
