Alex and I did another show with the impromaniacs on Wednesday, another office christmas party show, and it went way better.
For one thing, there was no awkward "ha ha I'm a fake maitre d' making awkward conversation with you" precursor to the actual show.
For another thing, we got to have an actual warm-up in advance. Although we tried to play hot tub, which is a rhythmic rhyming exercise that nobody other than Alex and I had ever played before, and it failed spectacularly.
Players seemed much more committed, enthused, less hesitant, etc. It was a lot of fun. There was still a bit too much talking heads and a too little action, but it was still better than the last show.
We also got to sign in and wear visitor security passes, so I, for one, felt super important.
