My mom and stepdad visited this weekend, and we went and saw Eric Bibb in concert on Saturday night. I’d seen him at the Vancouver Folk Festival in July, so an open-air stage surrounding by hippies, young and ageing, and lots of dancing. Mom and Ian had seen him when they were in New Mexico, accompanied by an all-black a capella singing group, who told the white people in the audience not to clap along unless they learned some rhythm.

On Saturday night, we saw Eric Bibb at the performance hall of the Victoria Conservatory of Music, and I think my mom and Ian brought down the average age of the all-white, all the time audience. Very different experience. Still good, though.
