Also, grades are finally up today - only a week late, not like anyone was holding their breath and desperately hoping that the term paper they emailed in, as requested, was actually received since the professor never responded to their multiple desperate emails. Or anything. However, all is good and I have passed everything with flying colours. Especially those two pass/fail courses. ;)

So, those books that cost $300? Turns out two of them are essentially the same thing, one in English and one bilingual. And both of them are a collection of legislation, which I can quite frankly access online. It's a closed-book exam, so why would I pay $100 for a bound collection of legislation? This, my friends, is why I don't buy books before the first day of class. Unlike the mythos of American law schools, where you're supposed to have read everything by the first day of class and be able to answer questions or be prepared for endless ridicule. It's quite possible I would have been laughed out of an American school; good thing I couldn't afford to go!

It's 22 degrees outside today. I wore a jacket downtown (had a lunch date with people from my second co-op term) and it was quite clearly de trop. Man, I am going to miss this city.

So, if *you* saw on a calendar that summer school started on Monday, May 2nd, which would you assume was right - the Monday? Or the May 2nd? If, like me, you guessed Monday, then you too might have been wandering the empty halls of UVic's law school yesterday morning. It's my own fault - I should have double-checked BEFORE the weekend, and thereby had time to verify which was correct with the office. Meh. It's not like I needed the sleep, right?

I love that people still post comments on my blog, even when I only update once in a blue moon. Gentle tenacious readers, how I love thee so!

Amy, I am in Victoria until mid-August, at which point I make the trek to Sudbury. With a brief stop in Toronto for a two-day training program. Which I'm sure will be completely comprehensive and not at all made up of getting-to-know-the-other-clerks-and-various-team-building-type-exercises. If anyone suggests pretending to beg for money in the metro, I'm quitting.

In other news, we finally got the leaky bathtub faucet fixed. The silence is so very, very glorious. Now I just need to replace the broken door handle...and do something about the hideous wallpaper that is starting to peel away from the walls. Yep, we're durn house proud 'round here...
