I walked home by a slightly different route today. I usually walk up Yates or Fort, because that's where the interesting shops are, but this time I decided to just head up Burdett rather than wait for a light to change. It was raining this afternoon - because I didn't bring my umbrella, see - and I wanted to make it home before the skies opened again.

As I was walking past the Y, a man fell down on the sidewalk in front of me. Hard. I went over to ask if he needed help, but he insisted he was okay and got up slowly. He continued walking down the street, clearly having trouble staying up and on the sidewalk. He smelled like alcohol, but I didn't think he was drunk - it was more of a stale smell, you know? So I went into the Y and got them to call the police, because I was really afraid this guy would hurt himself, either by falling or by wandering into traffic.

I hate doing that, though. I don't imagine that this guy will have a particularly pleasant interaction with the police, and I'm not the world's biggest fan of the police. On the other hand, who else do you call? He didn't seem to need an ambulance, but he also seemed to be having some kind of problem, and he fell *really* hard. Maybe he was drunk, I don't know. Either way, he seemed to need some kind of help.

After I left the Y I passed by the park across the street, and I saw him again. He'd either fallen again or lain down, and was struggling to get up again. I hope that, if they find him, they're actually helpful.

ellipsis
You scored 38% Sociability and 70% Sophistication!
Your life can be difficult because of your insecurities, but you should know that it isn't your fault. YOU didn't ask to be thrown in around thirty times per page in every bodice-ripper on the shelf! Those who overuse you can kiss your . . . you know. You need to learn to hold your head high and glory in your solitude. You really do have excellent, scholarly tastes. You must never forget that your friend, the period, will be there to support you at the end of every sentence where you truly belong, and, if what is left out is as important as what is said, why, then you are as vital as the alphabet!

My test tracked 2 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

Heh. The ellipsis is, indeed, my favourite punctuation. Followed closely by the exclamation mark (though my love for it doesn't hold a candle to my sister's.) Obviously my life fluctuates between extremes of vagueness and certainty.

It's been foggy for days here in Victoria, which I'm sure sucks for the drivers, but is beautiful for the rest of us.

A guy in the elevator made fun of me this morning for taking my umbrella to work because "it never rains here in November!" Uh, okay guy. Whatever. I think we all know that if I didn't bring my umbrella, it would definitely rain.

Today a guy at work was telling a story about how he was held up at gunpoint in Mexico while on vacation (he's been going there for 15 years and this is the first time he's ever run into any crime, this isn't some kind of fear-mongering tale, folks!) In the course of describing how the guy didn't get much off of him, he mentioned that one of the rings he wears is worth $3500. Um, I think my entire wedding cost less than that...

I'm currently enjoying a glass of port on my balcony. Mmmmmm...

I hear it's below zero in Montreal. Heh.

Which File Extension are You?

Heh heh. Watch out amateurs!

We had our best show in a long time tonight - we ran out of chairs! We actually made money! It was sweet. I was on tech, so no audience love for me, but it was still fun to watch. It used to be that I couldn't watch without wanting so desperately to be a part of the show that it kind of ruined it for me, but I'm getting better. Maybe because the troupe is so large that it doesn't feel like everyone but me is performing?

It's a little too easy not to leave the apartment when it's freezing rainy cold outside. I made Alex go to the grocery store, though. :D

Where was I when Keith Richards was having his solo career? I had no idea. I'm not entirely sure why he bothered, except I guess maybe he wanted to do the singing? He sounds just like the Stones to me...perhaps I just don't have a subtle enough ear.

I didn't know they made a movie out of "A Wrinkle In Time". I would be excited about seeking it out, but it seems universally hated by the imdb viewers. And I know how discriminating and culture their taste is.

What the hell is intimacy and protection from a woman's perspective? And I'm assuming "intimacy gel" is supposed to be lube...is this new term supposed to be more enticing somehow? I just don't see it...
